Buy or Lease at Pischke Motors of La Crosse

January 10, 2017

Welcome once again to the Wisconsin winter, where it’s a balmy 5 degrees Fahrenheit on this beautiful January day. But that’s nothing new to Pischke Motors of La Crosse, we know you know it’s cold outside. What you may not know are the pros and cons of buying a new or pre-owned vehicle versus leasing one. While both will get you behind the wheel of a new JeepĀ® SUV, there are a few differences you should be aware of.

Buying a New Jeep Cherokee:
When you buy a car it becomes yours to do whatever you please with. You own it, you have equity in it, you could drive it for the next 40 years or sell or trade it the second you finish paying it off or earlier if you wish. Should you take out a loan to help pay for the vehicle this option is understandably going to require more from you financially from a payment to payment standpoint, but in the long run it will end up being more of an investment.

Leasing a New RAM 1500:
When you lease, you have relatively strict guidelines of what you can and can’t do with the vehicle. Though you are in possession of it, you do not own it. At the end of your lease agreement, you must return the automobile in generally the same condition as you received it. You are responsible for any excessive wear and tear, and most lease agreements come with a mileage limit that should you exceed would result in a fine of some sort. You have no equity in the car or truck and once you return it, that’s it. However, monthly payments are often lower than when you buy. This is a great option if you just want to drive something new without the jumping through the hoops of ownership.

Pischke Motors of La Crosse is here to serve you whichever route you choose to take. We can’t wait to get you into a 2017 RAM 1500 truck or one of our other great new and used vehicles!
